In a heartbreaking turn of events, David Wayne Knott, Jr., affectionately referred to as Knotthead or DK, has passed away as of May 24, 2023. Born on September 1, 1966, in Mount Airy, Maryland, he attended Brunswick High School and graduated from there.
David, a lifelong heavy equipment operator, served as a Superintendent for W.F. Delauter and Son, where he excelled in his role. During his leisure time, he found pleasure in livestock, farming, butchering, and indulging in motorcycle rides. Agriculture was his passion, and he found great joy in operating his tractors, harvesting hay alongside his daughter KK, and engaging in all aspects of farming. David was a sociable person who enjoyed spending a significant amount of his time in the company of others. With exuberant enjoyment, he lived life in the fast lane, embracing laughter and passion.
Despite being outnumbered by girls, David cherished his family and found great joy in being a father figure to many whose lives he impacted. The father had a deep sense of pride for his four daughters. One of his daughters, McKenzy, cherished the memory of giving birth to her own daughter, Presley, who became the apple of her father’s eye. Aubry, his daughter, shared a passion for exhibiting pigs, and the entire family was actively engaged in 4H.
David had a knack for making his wife feel cherished through simple gestures such as writing little notes or surprising her with flowers for no particular reason. The couple cherished their morning coffee ritual at home or their visits to the Beach Shack, but what truly mattered to them was the precious moments they spent together, enjoying each other’s company.
David’s nightly routine often included gazing up at the stars or admiring the moon, often in the company of Kelsy. She expressed that these moments would be what she missed the most. David’s affection for his dog, Puddy, was also evident.
David, known for his sociable and boisterous nature, had a deeply emotional and passionate side that resonated with many individuals.
