A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized following a shooting in Brampton on Friday morning, which also resulted in nine schools being placed in hold and secure.
According to Peel Regional Police, a report of weapons being dangerous was received at approximately 11:25 a.m. in the vicinity of Central Park Drive and Grenoble Boulevard.
Reports have emerged of a teenage girl who was shot. The nature of the weapon, whether it was a genuine firearm or a replica, remains undisclosed at this time. According to sources, the shooting incident did not take place on the premises of the school.
The injuries sustained by the individual are reported to be non-life-threatening. According to sources, a suspect has been identified by law enforcement officials, who is believed to be a student. The police are urging the suspect to surrender themselves.
