According to California officials, R&B singer Brandy was a driver in a four-car motorway collision last month that claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman. There have been no arrests made, and the accident’s cause is still being investigated.
On December 30, the accident happened when the 27-year-old actress-singer Brandy Norwood was operating a 2007 Land Rover on the 405 Freeway. A 2005 Honda was struck by her at roughly 65 mph after she failed to slow down, according to a California Highway Patrol complaint.
According to the report, Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, was operating a Honda when it collided with another car, slid sideways, and then struck a center divider. Mallory Ham, 50, was operating the incoming vehicle when it collided with Aboudihaj’s vehicle.
After being transported to a hospital, Aboudihaj passed away from blunt-force trauma, according to Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the county coroner. Her death was classified as an accident by the coroner’s office. Ham was also transported to a hospital, where she received treatment for minor wounds.
According to her publicist, Brandy was not hurt in the collision and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. According to a statement made on Brandy’s behalf, “She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased.”
