Tony McPhee Obituary News – Cause of Death: The Groundhogs singer and guitarist Tony McPhee dies at 79.
It has been reported that Tony McPhee, the Groundhogs’ lead vocalist and guitarist, passed away at the age of 79. The English blues and rock band’s original member passed away “peacefully at home.”
After experiencing ‘complications’ following a ‘fall’ the previous year, McPhee passed away.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that 79 year old guitar and blues legend Tony (TS) McPhee, died peacefully at home today 6th June, from complications following a fall last year,” the Groundhogs announced via a social media post.
He is survived by his devoted wife Joanna, sons Conan & Vincent, grandchildren Scarlett & Victor and loving sister Olive.
When McPhee joined his coworker’s south London band, the Dollarbills, and changed their name to the Groundhogs in the 1960s, his career officially began.
