Jacob Olson Minnesota Obituary – Motorcycle Accident: Motorcyclist dies in Saturday afternoon crash on the Hwy. 15 exit ramp in St. Cloud.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported on Sunday that a motorcyclist had passed away following a high-speed collision on the Highway 15 exit ramp near St. Cloud.
According to Lt. Paul VanVoorhis, Jacob Charles Olson, 25, of St. Cloud, was one of three motorcyclists who were riding so quickly on Saturday that a police officer had to give up the pursuit.
According to the State Patrol, Olson was riding a 2021 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle with a 160 mph top speed.
Around 2:00 pm, the incident started on Highway 15 close to Highway 23.
The three motorcycles could not be stopped despite a St. Cloud police officer’s best efforts “due to their high rate of speed,” the State Patrol reported.
A little over two miles later, at S. 33rd Street, the motorcycle riders exited Highway 15 southbound. Olson then lost control and collided with a barrier. After being transferred there, he passed away in St. Cloud Hospital.
One of the motorcycle riders, according to VanVoorhis, stopped to assist Olson and worked with police officials. According to VanVoorhis, the third motorcycle rider fled the scene and hasn’t been located.
