Yassin Dwidar Obituary Kalamazoo, MI: In loving memory of Portage teen killed in Saturday night crash in Kalamazoo County.
A single-vehicle collision on the evening of June 10 claimed the life of a young passenger. Around 9:30 p.m., a Portage man, age 18, was operating a vehicle on ER Avenue, according to Michigan State Police.
When the car veered off the road, rolled partially over, and struck a tree in Pavilion Township close to South 29th Street.
The car was moving at a high rate of speed prior to the incident, according to a witness. Authorities had to rescue the driver and the passenger because they were both stuck inside the vehicle.
Sadly, the passenger, a boy from Kalamazoo in his teens, died there and there. As of Sunday, June 11, the driver’s condition is still critical.
Although it is thought that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the collision, driving too fast is thought to have been a contributing factor. Yassin Dwidar, a resident of Portage, Michigan, has not been recognized as the collision fatality.
The collision is currently under investigation.
