Keegan Schneeberger and Dustin Winans Obituary – Car Accident: Two teens killed, two injured in Laingsburg, MI car accident.
Two Laingsburg teenagers were killed in a road accident late on Tuesday. The incident is being looked into by troopers from the Michigan State Police’s Flint post.
A string of tweets published this afternoon on the MSP District 3 Twitter feed indicate that the collision happened Tuesday night about 10 p.m. nearby the intersection of Colby Lake and Winegar roads. The MSP made a correction late Wednesday afternoon after the first report of the crash’s date as Monday.
According to the MSP, a 2003 Ford pickup truck’s driver, 16, lost control of the vehicle and drove it into a roadside ditch, where it collided with a tree and caught fire. Both the driver and a 13-year-old child who was riding in the back seat suffered catastrophic injuries and perished at the site. A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old female passenger were the other two who were transported to a local hospital.
The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office, the Laingsburg Police Department, the Laingsburg Fire Department, and the Bath Township Fire Department all provided assistance to state troopers.
On Wednesday, calls to the MSP Flint Post and the Laingsburg Police went unanswered. It’s unknown whether the incident was caused by speed, the weather, or other factors.
Keegan Schneeberger, a 13-year-old passenger who died, has recently been identified as such by his mother Karen Schneeberger King. She also recognized the injured 15-year-old as Ethan Schneeberger, Keegan Schneeberger’s brother.
