Tamica Epps Obituary Virginia Commonwealth University: Former Richmond Public Schools HR Director Killed In Tragic Crash.
Police said they were engaged in a collision on Patriot Highway in Spotsylvania, which resulted in the death of a woman from Henrico County and the hospitalization of another person.
Deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision in the 7000 block of Patriot Highway at around two in the morning on June 23, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
It was discovered that a 2015 BMW was traveling south on Patriot Highway when it hit a sizable tree that had fallen and blocked all four lanes. The BMW’s driver then attempted a U-turn.
A 2008 Mercury SUV traveling north struck the tree as the BMW was turning, sending it into the air and crashing into the passenger side of the BMW. The BMW’s 42-year-old Henrico resident Tamica Epps was pronounced dead at the scene, and the car’s driver was transferred to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the police, it was found that the Mercury’s driver did not see the tree or BMW because it was dark and raining at the time of the collision.
The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is still looking into this accident.
