Jack Janway and Terry Janway Muskogee, Dalton Janway Parents Murder-Suicide: NASCAR star, Jimmie Johnson’s mother in-law identified in suspect in Monday night murder-suicide in Oklahoma home.
Police suspect that late on Monday night at the family’s Oklahoma home, Jimmie Johnson’s mother-in-law Terry Janway shot and killed her husband Jack Janway and their grandson Dalton.
Along with her husband Jack, 69, and their grandson Dalton, 11, Terry, 68, and Jack were discovered dead inside the house. Chandra, the wife of Johnson, is the child of Terry and Jack.
According to a police report, a female calling 911 reported “a disturbance” and that someone had a gun shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday. Next, the caller hung up.
After hearing another gunshot, police who were investigating the house discovered one body inside the front door’s hallway. They discovered the other two bodies while exploring the rest of the house.
“There’s no threat to the community, so it’s looking very likely that it’s a murder-suicide,” said Muskogee police officer Lynn Hamlin.
Police said they think Terry Janway was the shooter, but they don’t know why she did it or whether she dialed 911.
