North Canton Motorcycle Accident: Man loses leg, three injured in motorcycle crash on US Route 62 in Sugar Creek Township.
Following a motorcycle accident in Stark County on Sunday night that left three persons critically injured, the Ohio State Highway Patrol has launched an investigation.
Around 8:45 p.m., the collision occurred on US Route 62 in Sugar Creek Township, close to milepost 7.
Investigators claim that a 2017 Harley Davidson being driven by a 55-year-old man traveling west on US Route 62 when he veered to the left and struck a 2009 Yamaha traveling the other way.
Both motorcycles overturned, scattering their riders.
The 30-year-old Yamaha driver was brought to a local hospital with serious wounds, including the loss of a leg. A passenger, age 27, had minor wounds.
The Harley Davidson rider was also taken to the hospital with critical injuries. He was in critical but stable condition early on Monday.
According to investigators, drinking is thought to have contributed to the collision, which is still being looked into.
