Fairfax Station Car Accident: South County High School students identified as victims in fatal Fairfax Station crash.
A single-vehicle collision that happened yesterday night in Fairfax Station claimed the lives of two children and critically injured another.
According to reports, dispatchers were alerted about an emergency crash in the 7400 block of Lee Chapel Road at 9:26 p.m. A 2019 Lexus IS350 was discovered off the road by officers after they scoured the area.
One victim was extricated by fire and rescue services, and she was transferred to a local hospital with injuries that were thought to be life-threatening. Two other Lexus occupants were pronounced dead at the site.
Detectives initially discovered the driver was taking Lee Chapel Road north. The sedan’s driver lost control as it topped a hill, drove off the road, and the car came to rest on its roof. Detectives initially think speed played a role in the collision.
The crash was not caused by alcohol, authorities determined.
