Becky Bliefnick Obituary – Cause of Death: Quincy woman death investigated as a homicide.
Rebecca Bliefnick, who lived at 2528 Kentucky Road, was found dead Thursday afternoon by a family member who went to check on her because she hadn’t picked up her children from St. Peter School.
Thursday at 3:23 p.m., Quincy police got the call and went to the scene. Investigators and a member of the Adams County State’s Attorney’s office were at the scene late into the night gathering evidence and talking to witnesses.
Adam Yates, the police chief of Quincy, said that the case is being looked at as a murder. Bliefnick had several gunshot wounds when he was found.
Yates said, “This is being looked at as an open investigation.” “We’re looking for more witnesses to talk to and watching video evidence.”
Josh Jones is an assistant state’s attorney in Adams County. He said that his office is helping QPD with their investigation. Jones said, “It’s very early in the process.” “Our hearts go out to her kids and the rest of her family. Right now, we’re thinking about them.”
Yates said that investigators will look through all of the electronics found at the house for clues. Even though the house is no longer a crime scene, police may still be in the area to find out more.
