The horrible murder of Utah track and field standout Lauren McCluskey by her ex-boyfriend on the campus of the University of Utah happened over four and a half years ago.
It was a narrative that, with good reason, shocked not only the state of Utah but the entire nation. The more the subject was looked into, the more institutional failings on how to deal with stalking and domestic/dating violence among students were revealed—not just in Utah but all across the nation.
A brand-new investigation into the McCluskey case, featuring fresh information about what happened when Lauren pleaded with campus police for assistance, will premiere on ESPN. On Tuesday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET, “Listen” will make its debut on ESPN+ and ESPN+ on Hulu.
On March 31 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC, 20/20 will also run a supplementary two-hour report on the documentary.
When she was unjustly taken from us, Lauren was a track and field athlete for the Utes. Jill McCluskey, Lauren’s mother, recalls her daughter as friendly and able to make friends with anyone, including “popular” kids, special needs kids, and everyone in between. Lauren was a strong supporter of animals, a capable student, and a talented singer.
