Rex Goodell, Emily Goodell, and Hayes Morgheim Death / Grand Island murder-suicide shooting: Identities released in murder-suicide involving three people early Sunday morning in Grand Island, Nebraska.
The county attorney reports that a 26-year-old man killed his wife and another man before turning the gun on himself, leaving three people dead in Grand Island.
At 2:30 on Sunday morning, the Grand Island Police Department responded to a call in the 4100 block of West Arizona Avenue in Grand Island.
Authorities reported that 23-year-old Emily Goodell was at the house in northwest Grand Island after traveling from Lincoln. Rex Goodell, Emily’s 26-year-old husband, arrived in Grand Island early on Sunday “to contact her” from Lincoln.
According to the evidence, Goodell killed his wife inside the house. Although the sequence of events is not specified, the 26-year-old also shot Hayes Morgheim, who was 23 years old. The parents were not hurt while Morgheim was at their house.
However, they turned the case over to SCALES (South Central Area Law Enforcement Services) for “an impartial investigation,” according to Grand Island police, who claimed they did not fire any shots.
According to Klein, “police arrived quickly” and that Goodell is the only suspect. On the spot, he passed away.
Investigation is ongoing.
