Trey Williams Manchester Center, VT Motorcycle Accident: ‘Hair,’ ‘Everwood’ actor Treat Williams dies following two-vehicle collision in Dorset.
According to Vermont State Police, actor Treat Williams, who was best known for his leading roles in the films Everwood and Hair, passed away on Monday as a result of a motorbike accident in Dorset. The resident of Manchester Center was 71 years old.
Ryan Koss, 35, of Pownal was traveling south on Route 30 at Morse Hill Road when he attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot, according to early investigation results, according to police. Williams, who was traveling north on a 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle, couldn’t avoid hitting Koss’ Honda Element and was knocked off the bike.
Williams was flown to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, where doctors declared him dead. According to a press release from the Vermont State Police on Monday night, Koss suffered just minor wounds. The agency stated that it would continue its inquiry on Tuesday.
According to People Magazine, Williams had more than 120 credits during the course of his nearly 50-year career. He received Golden Globe nominations for his performances as Daniel Ciello in the movie Prince of the City and as George Berber in the movie version of the Broadway musical Hair. In addition, he received two Screen Actors Guild nominations for his lead performance in the television series Everwood, Dr. Andrew Brown.
