Car Accident Oakey: Roma couple and baby killed in multi-vehicle crash near Toowoomba.
West of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs, a multi-vehicle accident claimed the lives of a man, a woman, and a one-year-old infant.
At around 11:15 on Tuesday, a car and at least two lorries, including a B-double, collided on the Warrego Highway near Connelly Bridge.
A 40-year-old Roma man, a 38-year-old Roma lady, and the infant all perished while riding in a sedan, according to police. A 36-year-old guy who was a fourth passenger suffered non-life threatening wounds.
The two involved trucks were going in different directions.
A 20-year-old Kearneys Spring guy who was driving the westbound truck was brought to Toowoomba Hospital with leg injuries but was later released.
The 55-year-old Brendale guy who was operating the vehicle in the east was unharmed. He is assisting the police with their inquiry.
